Hello, I am an East Canton alumni currently running for The University of Akron. I founded Starting Line Running because of my passion to foster the running community and give children the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the sport.

TOM LOY

Coach

You're looking at the head coach of East Canton High School's track and field program. He's been named National Coach of the Year because of his three back-to-back state championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He is truly dedicated to making the running experience a great one. One of his many lessons is to always "enjoy and compete".

LEE STERNBERG

Coach

Lee Sternberg is the head coach of East Canton's Boys Cross Country Team. He also boasts a National Coach of the Year award along with three state championships in 1998, 2017, and 2020.

Payton is our extremely talented photographer. She is a graduate of East Canton, and is currently furthering her education in photography at Stark State. She is such a huge help to our team, as you will see her work all throughout our website and promotional materials!

Our 2021 Camp was made possible through volunteers from the East Canton and Akron cross country teams, along with many other alumni/ dedicated runners.
